The transport of dangerous goods in combined transport rail-road is a complex issue. The recent information has been summarized in a small brochure for daily use in the framework of the DESTINY project. The brochure is available in several languages on the project’s website. The information is also relevant for intermodal terminals so that KombiConsult publishes the brochure also on the AGORA website.

The European Norm EN 13044 (2010) standardizes the identification of intermodal loading units. Against that background camera portals and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technologies have been implemented in numerous ports, but also some continental intermodal terminals.
